I'm sure it has the same part numbers as your key however the PROM (Programmable Read Only Memory) will have been set to another car and once it has been programmed that is it. The only way to get a replacement key is to go with your owners documents to Mercedes and they will order the correct key for your car ~£200 IIRC

I've also moved this out to the correct section

You will also need to take with you a Passport or photo diving licence plus utility bill for proof of address along with V5 in your name with your address on. Expect to pay around £200 as said before and it takes about three weeks to come from Germany.

Keys fro Ebay cannot be reprogrammed and will never work.

I wonder what the chances are Mike of buying an Ebay key and find out that it belonged to your car, what are the odds on that:D:D

I guess the odds would be a bit higher if you bought one from a scallywag selling them in an area where you live. But I can't understand where all these keys on Ebay are coming from. Mercedes make it so clear that their keys cannot be copied or reprogrammed, even going to the trouble of producing a leaflet available at all their outlets. The ones on Ebay must come from suspect sources. So why are people so gullible?

I guess some are spare keys from original owners who lost them and then found them, e.g. Ebay item: 250453036054. But there are dozens of them for sale on ebay.
