I'm confused with MGW, unladen weight, towing limits, etc. Can anyone tell me what I can tow with my 2001 E320 CDi Estate?

85% of vehicles kerb weight is the recommeded maximum.
Your E320cdi has a kerb weight of 1,780kg so 85% of that = 1,513 kg
Pls also note max nose weight of 84kg which is the MB recommended running weight, with 50kg as a minimum nose weight.
Also pls note max vehicle weight of 2,340kg and rear axle load of 1,300kg
MB also say towing not permitted if you have the third row of seats occupied by more than one person.
Caravan club will probably be able to give you more advice.

Thanks for the info.
I note the max vehicle weight and rear axle load - how do I use this information with regards to towing?

The max vehicle weight of 2,349kg has to include trailor nose weight and any passengers / pets / luggage etc.
The 1,300kg rear axle load has to include tailor nose weight and any luggage / items / passengers over the rear axle.
