Tailgate Reverse/Fog Fail E220 AG 2002 Est

Anyone Help...

Lights On Tailgate Of E220 2002 AG have stopped working, Checked Bulbs and Fuse... Using Meter Power is getting to both clusters and I have checked Ohms Meter that connection is getting to bulb holders and it appears problem could be connection between bulb holder and I think its called matrix... baffled

I tried new bulb holder and it still does not work

somme advice would be appreciated as go on Hols Saturday... reply here or if easier can call me 07801 502852

You need to check the voltage at the lamp, normally a broken wire in the tailgate hinge

Yep the matrices to tend to wear out or oxidise.
It's been covered in depth on the forum before but I can't remember the remedy.
I'm sure Malcolm will be along soon with his words of wisdom.
I can remember he doesn't recommend rubbing the connections with emery cloth as it only promotes more oxidation.
On my car the connections had becomerelaxed and needed tweaking back into contact

And there you go! Quicker off the draw
