2010 A207 E500 (the Summer Car and Winter Garage Queen)!
Today has been about getting ready to lay up the trusty A207 for the winter... Reclaimed the old battery conditioner from the back of the garage, new fabric car cover purchased from Ebay and on the way! So, doing a bit of googleing on various things MB, and discovered the car is subject to a recall for the airbags from 2020! VIN dutifully entered into the MB site, note says I will be contacted when the campaign begins. As it was 2020, I expect the campaign is well under way and surprise surprise, ive had no contact from MB! Would you say the best thing is to contact my nearest MB dealer, which is Macclesfield? Either way, it won't now be done until spring 2022! Cheers all!

I have observed exactly the same with my w251. I have heard nothing. I mentioned it to them at service time. They said these items would come up when plugged in, they then said my car was not effected. I questioned why it shows on the recall site - the answer was not clear enough.

IMHO the service from dealers has really gone south. min effort with zero customer orientation.

Hmm interesting Mioba. I think I'll call them and see what's what. Will also hook the Icarsoft up and see if it reveals anything on the manufacturer. Possibly I could mention to them that IF they note it doesn't need doing, do they want to put that in writing in case it explodes in my face when I'm on the M6  !!

Indeed, that was my thought. I had even emailed the dealer with a screenshot of the recall page, showing my vin and the recall notice.......no reply and that was 4 weeks ago.

Update, your thread prompted me check the recall page of MB,
The Airbag update is still there and now

  • Diesel software update

    • Affected?
      Yes

      Open
Your vehicle is affected by this voluntary service measure. You will receive further details from us, unprompted, about the specific process as soon as the recall campaign begins. Your Mercedes-Benz Service Partner is prepared for the necessary action and will be happy to answer any questions. If you have any queries you are welcome to contact us on 00 800 12 777 777. Further information In general, Daimler develops software updates for a major part of the diesel fleet with exhaust gas standards Euro 6b and Euro 5 in Europe, which improve the average nitrogen oxide emissions of the vehicles in normal driving operation. The company thus makes an important contribution towards further improving air quality.

Hmmm wouldnt surprise me if they done this last service without me knowing as the mpg has gone up a few digits since last service....

Thanks for that mioba, I got the same message but less the phone number. I'll call MB Macclesfield first and update here...

If you look at the models affected and dates there is a considerable number to do, I presume they are doing them in chronological order with the oldest vehicles first.
There could also be supply issues for the new parts.

A friend with an A150 (2008) has had the recall notice, it was booked in then cancelled due to lack of parts. I have an A160 (2010) and as yet have not had a recall notice, though I have only owned the car for 6 weeks.
Interestingly when researching the car in August, checking the car on the DVLA site showed no recalls due, though now it does.
I also asked my local MB dealer for an Oasis sheet service history and any other information - no mention of a recall..

Mercedes has announced it will recall 400,000 models in the UK after it was alerted to incidents of airbags accidentally deploying. The recall will apply to A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, E-Class and CLA, GLA and GLC models built between November 2011 and July 2017.

Just found the above, if they have 400,000 to do they are unlikely to contact everyone at once !!.

Oh that recall is not for the airbag itself, but a separate issue....

Before thousands of people call MB check this link first...

Thanks misterdog, possibly mine then at 2010 model year escapes the recall, although the MB site says it is subject to it! Hey ho, its being winterised this week anyway and I have a few minor things to keep me occupied until spring, all cosmetic and general maintenance related. I shall engage with MB meantime during the winter months.... I've never been subject to a recall, is it DVLA who write to you or MB?

Neither have I, all the information is in the link..

How do you know if your car is affected?

If your car is impacted, you will receive a letter from Mercedes-Benz Cars UK Limited (MBC UK) advising that your car is affected by this recall, and to contact your local dealership. In the meantime, you can use the VIN checker on: www.mercedes-benz.co.uk/passengercars/being-an-owner/total-recall/start.module.html.
