Tape stuck in Player

Hi, I have 2001 E220 with an audio 10 system. The tape is now stuck in teh system and does not eject. Does anyone know how I can get the system to eject the tape or remove the system from panel?

Tend to find persistance pays, when you push the eject does anything happen? You might find the use of a flat blade screwdriver can lift the tape so it pops out.

Have tried persistenly ejecting

Have tried persistenly pressing the eject but nothing happens. also when u try changing from radio back to tape its not detecting the tape as being present. any idea how u get teh system out or take the front cover off?

If the tape does not play, and as you say eject the unit is best taken out.
When the capstan shafts get dirty, they can pick the tape up and wrap it around the shaft, if this has happened take the unit out and with a thin nosed soldering iron it is best to put it through the the cassette and melt it all away, tape and cassette, then it will fall out and you can clean it all up.
The hundreds of destroyed units that I have seen over the years where the tape has been forced out.

It could of cause be just the eject solinoid at fault, so if the tape plays, it is a faulty eject solinoid.
