I went to see a car at the weekend, all in great condition. On start up there was a rattle from the engine the seller said it was the hydraulic Tappits, Is this normal or should I worry?
I don't think the car gets much use at the moment. The noise did subside a bit as it warmed up but was still slightly noticeable.
Any advice would be welcomed.
Thanks:)

Slight wear in the valve gear plus timing chain are common place, easy to do and last a long time, lots of details on this site about the lifters.
