Testing A/C Compressor V230

How can i check if the A/C compressor works before having someone fill the system . Im currently changing the head on the engine and before I start buttoning it all up I wanted to test the A/C compressor ..If it is faulty then I can replace it before I put back the head

Only by sending away, I do not think that you can test it your self

Needs to be connected to air con regas machine does not need engine running to gas it up but will need it running to check pressures etc.
Did it work before you stripped the motor? rare for compressors to go wrong.
