Your Mercedes
S211 E320 v6
Hello this is my first time ever posting on a forum at all, so sorry if it's wrong ,please let me know what I need to do.

I have a s211 2006 e320 V6 CDI with 172k on the clock.

since I've owned the car I've always felt like the steering was on the heavy side co pared to my dad's w212 c220 and my partner's BMW E60.

so recently flushed the power steering fluid and found it was almost jet black.

its now nice and green, but my steering still feels heavy, I know the power steering is working but it's not as light as I'd expect it + it does not seem to vary from slow to fast speeds.

so my next guess is the SPS Solonoid that needs replacing.

however I'd like to test mine before ordering a new one, doe anyone know how/if there's a way to be sure if the Solonoid is working or not?

and any particular brand to go for when buying a replacement?

thank you in advance
