any one know the part number of the brass connector that goes on the inner wing that you are supposed to clamp the earth to rather than the battery.... mine hasn't got one, are they fairly generic across the mercs?

its about 25mm long with female 6mm ? thread and something like 12 mm or so head / nut

Know the one ... looks like a Stretched top hat in brass, but I couldn't find it listed.

What would they classify that under?
Wiring looms?
Will look again tomorrow when I fire up the pc.

On mine I think its an M8 thread. If memory serves me the battery terminals are defo M6 but this was bigger.
Makes sense as I think you should use thos for a jump start (don't quote me as I would never jump start a big Merc).

I was told by a very good Technician, always to use this for the negative, when charging this car or accessories. Never to use the negative Battery terminal, as it can really confuse or damage the Battery Control Module, which he said was quite expensive to replace.

Anyway looked in loads of places but could not find it to get the part number.
Sorry
It could be under Electrical, engine compartment or body etc.

Brillo pad,, i think its a worthy mod for owners that dont have one , like me ,But i would never use it to jump start .
Why not? Works perfectly and is designed for exactly that purpose.
