I used to love F1 but since they took away the V8 soul of the sport , ive simply got bored of it , such a shame

Reading that article in full, sounds like the beginning of the end of watching F1 for me - when I had Sky I would not pay their extortionate price for the sports channels, moved to BTTV for MotoGP and European Football (what a match tonight, Liverpool 3 Bayern 1!!), and have no intention of returning to Sky.

Bad enough when just later aired 'highlights' and accidently via media get the result , yet the news extend a courtesy to football hooligans .

Meh. Stopped being interesting for me 5-6 years ago.

Me too, lasted a bit longer than you though. Quit watching about three years ago, found I was skipping most of the race and just watching the start and the last ten laps. :(

Just another mainstream sport bought from terrestrial viewers and added to the elite and expensive stable of Sky products, I wonder what they will create from the series to put in their box office productions? or maybe that's just the cynic in me . I think I'll write to the BBC and ask for a refund ;)

I watched the ABB Formula E race in Hong Kong last weekend and that was interesting!

Sponsors seem to be now questioning the value of F1, as viewer numbers continue to fall globally. - If you preclude half the population from watching a 'product' (F1), that 'product' becomes less interesting.

I can hope that F1 will wake up at some point, but not holding my breath.

In the meantime, i'll find something else to watch!

It should be pointed out that premiership football has done quite well out of it's deal with Sky, Still very popular. The same seems to be true for say boxing. Like many here, I don't have Sky (just BT Sport - it came free with the broadband packege) and if I can escape from being told the result in advance, I'll probably watch the highlights - how you make a "highlights" programe out of some of the circuits will be interesting:)

Can't believe it's an issue these days, live stream on a laptop plugged into the TV...

I only ever watch the highlights anyway. No time for a full race. As much as I like F1 I don't think it is worth adding to my already costly enough Sky subscription for it. If/when it leaves terrestrial TV forever I'll not lose any sleep and just not watch it.

Loads of new Sponsors inc title sponsors for Williams and HAAS

Sky are doing F1 for £10 a month with no contract, the coverage is excellent, way beyond what has been done before, they really have taken it to the next level

Its an issue in the UK because most if not all ISP's block such channels due to copyright laws pushed by the EU. I presume Spain doesn't comply.

Must admit the sites do get deleted so it's often a different site each race, and of the 20 links only about 6 work...but setting up laptop 10 minutes before and searching for "f1 free live streaming" or something always works after 2 minutes of trying links and waiting for one that works and is good quality.

As I understand it the UK anti piracy laws are much much more invasive and far reaching than the ones imposed by the EU, as are the proposed bans on pawn, etc. This might explain the difference or it might just be Spanish ISPs don't enforce it...whether it's a UK/EU/ISP issue a VPN should sort it out...

How many other sports have gone to premium channels? Football being the main one but boxing is another with the biggest fights on PPV only. Sky's coverage is the best full stop. They cover every session and have extended coverage for the race weekend.

I think the 6 nations is one of the "Crown Jewels" that have to be on terrestrial - like Wimbledon, FA Cup final and maybe one or two others. Like many, we'll be glued to the TV this Saturday!!
