the ferrari has gone back today:-|
last saturday while driving down the road the rear wheel came off
yes i mean came off!!
all 5 wheel nuts came undone and the car skidded into the kurb causing the alloy and undersill to be damaged
he was only doing 40 at the time so that was lucky
phoned the dealer and got some bull about "nothing to do with us sir its your responsability to check wheel nuts"
he had done just under 200 miles in the car!!
they collected the car on saturday and he had a meeting today with their head of service and the md
his arguement was that the car should have been P D I before he collected and that they did not secure the wheels properley and had not informed him they had been off
this is where it gets really funny because the salesman said "oh we didn't take the wheels off cos we never checked the brakes"
mmm not very good:-x
so anyway they have traced the fault to before my man bought it (it was second hand) they had sent the alloys off for re-laquering and the company that had done it didn't put any bungs in the nut holes so when the laquer dried it was 1-2 mm higher than it should have been on the shoulder where the nut sits so the thread couldn't go into the hub as far as it should
this is acording to the ferrari engineer anyway
so he gave them the car back saying he has lost all faith in it and it was not fit for the purpose intended
so they offered him to sevice it but he won't take that car back he says he is buying a brand new one later in the year
it actually shook him up a bit and he is not easily shook up!!!
so the S65 may be closer than we think:grin:
