I just don't understand why people do it, as anything moderately quick will easily embarrass them. Same goes for all the Audi A3/A4 2.0 tdi's with a full on RS3/4 body kit. All show and no go.

Just had a look in the shed, got some yellow, blue and black insulating tape. That'll do, close enough, job's a good 'un.

To be fair, I don't think the second one is trying to be anything, never mind AMG, just had some personal modifications. Might not be our taste (and before BC says it, yes I know I have none )

Did you miss the quad AMG style pipes at the rear?

Any suspect car I see on the road, I just look at the brakes to see if its genuine or not as its easy to make good replicas nowadays.

Nope, saw them but I was thinking body kit gone mad rather than cloning, suspect a real cloner would have AMG badges everyplace possible !

Guilty as charged. I just bought a CL500 and its badged AMG....



But. In my defence:

1) I didn't put it there.
2) It does have gorgeous 19" AMG wheels:



and:

3) Floor mats. Real AMG floor-mats!

So that gets me off the hook.

I have it on good authority that those alloys and the floor mats - on their own - make the car go faster. Like a lot faster. The science is complicated but give me a day or two and I'll send in the reports.
