Dear Cognoscente,

The light has gone out in the heater temp control dial (there are two of them - one for passenger one for driver) on the dash of my 190. Does anyone know how to replace? Can i just pull the dial off and whack in a bulb (once I know what kind it is?)

Gawd bless the wise.

yup - just give them a tug - they pull straight off.
Make sure you get the right wattage bulbs - Dealers are a bit random on this and the knobs get very hot if you don't.

The rating is usually stamped on the metal base of the bulb. it will say something like 12v/5w the power being 5 watts etc.
