Oh I know that, I was so good to that ungrateful girl and everything I did was just thrown back in my face. Her loss, not mine.

However, the relationship I have with my own car gets better and better, it uses less fuel, moves faster.

I still want a V6 though....

a little more out front - so as to speak:)

Aye, defo pop along to the GTGs. MB tech should have one in Warrington again, that was a good day out.

The Pumas have a nice handling, but I like my big barges. I drove a 204 C class with the V6 engine and that shifted, and handled. Wonderful but not so nice inside, a 211 handles nice but so comfy and refined.

The hunt isnt one, but its in the pipeline. Now Sharron is no more, I need a new buzz...

Good luck with the job hunt, hope it goes well for you...

i agree. your 211 seemed much more planted than my 210. i also love big cars, but weirdly, this little Puma is as fast from the lights, if not faster than my 210 was, handles better, is as good on fuel etc than the 210 was, and the only reason ive noticed the ride problems is coz of all the potholes around lately! i only got rid of the 210 as it needed the engine sorted, new exhaust, steering joints, suspension work etc! i guessed around £2K was needed to be spent on it. the car would only be worth £2500 if it was perfect. so i got a trade in deal to get rid. wanted a focus then i spied the Puma. always wanted one, prior to having a merc, and funds wouldnt stretch to a merc at the moment! have to see what happens. if work picks up, i might get to the gtg at Peebles, or wherever it is planned to be! time and funds will be the deciding factor. as will the hot water situation, since its shrunk my clk coupe into a Ford Puma!:shock::lol::lol::lol:

Ah but yours had a nice I6 growl.

A set of AG springs would have made yours a bit more planted. The 211 AG does corner well, if driven wildly it can keep up with so called sports cars. Brilliant fun. A V6 is a shorter engine so will sit further back and shouldnt be too much heavier and with sport suspension I imagine for me, this would be the best of all E classes, especially with a COMAND, flappy paddle gears.

Sod it, I shall save even more as I want to make a cash purchase.

i do miss the 6 pot growl, but luckily for me, the inlet and exhaust system was tuned by ford to give a sporty rasp, without being loud or intrusive like boy racer exhausts are. AG springs would be the way to go for my 210, but given the joints were on the way out, and the shocks werent great either, i thought £350 for an r reg Puma was better than £2k+ on the 210! only problem i have now is that with the sporty exhaust note etc the puma has, is resisting temtation to give it loads of right boot! not that it ever worried me with the 210 either! i wasnt as far behind the SL boys as i expected to be when we went to Banbury!

I've thought about this a lot. Trouble is in OUR now liberal society it doesnt matter. And it really doesnt. There once was respect even amongst the very poor and aspirations to do better. (remember the pride, even the poorest house-wives had ensuring the washing was whiter than the neighbors for instance)

Now people are convinced that a better life is their right. For that better life they have seen and KNOW you must have a flash house, cars, Gold bling chains, holidays etc. for the want of being lucky on a scratch card, winning a lawsuit for discrimination or being a rap star.

Because of this, they feel left out, neglected, disadvantaged, and rebel. A lot of the rebellion is passive - aggressive. Resentful petulance and disrespect.

Even many less immature people feel similar towards a country that has thrown away their inheritance of a once fruitful & safe country, fought for generations and the sacrifice of millions, by a successive self serving spineless puppet Governments including our sovereign.

I think we've still a long way to go before everyone really knows what 'p1ssed off ' means. Or we still wouldn't be handing the keys to europe.

The following is a statement issued by one of our juvenile court judges. Wish more of our judicial people would adopt this attitude rather than the "softly softly" approach that most of them have.

Open Letter to Teenagers
By a Juvenile Court Judge

Always, we hear the plaintive cry of teenagers
'What can we do? Where can we go?'
The answer is, 'go home'. Wash the windows,
Paint the woodwork, rake the leaves, scrub
Some floors, repair the sink, wash the car,
Learn to cook, build a boat, get a job, visit
The sick, assist the poor, study your lessons,
And when you are finished - and
not tired - read a book.

Your town does not owe you recreation facilities.
Your parents do not owe you entertainment.
The world does not owe you a living.
You owe the world something.
You owe it your time, energy and talents,
so that no-one will be at war, or
in poverty, or sick or lonely again.
In plain simple words - grow up!
Stop being a cry baby, get out of your dream
World, develop a backbone, not a wishbone,
Start acting like a man or woman.

What you are, God gave you.
What you become, you give to God.
Australia needs your help for survival.
You are important and you are needed.
It is too late to sit around and wait for
Somebody to do something some day.
Someday is now and somebody is You.
You be extraordinary, or we all die.

Just count the notches on the dashboards Malcolm!

It was different back then Alex,, we had national service and every 18 to 22 year old was away from my home town, and I was the only free male around.

It was just the fact that I was a nice guy, and I tried to please all of them,,I am a kind soul at heart.

You could put it on a par with my post count here
