Hi guys,
I’ve noticed since I bought the car that it’s only getting a reading of between 40/60 on the temp gauge when driving to work.. 15 min trip, some morning it’s get to between 40 & 60 then goes back down ... on the odd occasion it’s gone completely back to 40 when I arrive at work and the fan is blowing for around 30 seconds or so when I turn the engine off ... is this due the weather at the minute ? I’m used to cars getting to temp in like 5 mins and then staying there constantly so this is a tad strange for me
It’s a 2011 C350 CDI by the way

Sounds like your thermostat is foobared.
If you have a DPF get the thermostat fixed ASAP as it will fail to regen if the engine is not up to temperature.

If the inside of the exhaust is black and sooty then no DPF.

If registration documents state EU5 the car is fitted with a DPF. As LK I would get the stat changed ASAP the OM642 usually warms up quickly and if not mpg will suffer and you may have DPF regeneration problems
