Thinking of buying a CL55 AMG

Guys..

Having recently sold our 230SLK, I am planning to upgrade to a CL55 AMG

Looking for some advice.. how much do these cars cost to run and service..

What year was the face lift version released (pics if possible) and what were the changes?

Things to look out for?

And anyone know of any nice ones for sale?

LOTS!!!! - this was a 100k car so expect parts and servicing to be pro-rata.
There is an aspect of 'if you have to ask, you can't afford it' to the AMGs.

Seriously, I'd ring a few local dealers and indies and price up servicing (A and B) and also price up tyres, brake disks and pads and exhausts. It should give you a good guide.
e.g. Euro car parts - front disks for an E320 - around £40, for an E55 £140, and that's each.

Go for a 52 plate onwards. This had the 500bhp engine with kompressor, the earlier ones having a mere 350ish

4 tail pipes is the giveaway (as opposed from two)

Lovely car, don't expect cheap running costs, though you should get around 22-24 mpg with a light right foot, though this takes some of the fun away

Not expecting it to be cheap to run.. but then I wont be doing many miles in it..

mainly just weekend driving.

Sounds like the 52 plate is the one to go for then
