Hi all
I am thinking of buying a Merc and have some q's to help me decide.
Firstly, I am looking for a C Class Coupe and I know there seem to be alot of different models. I would like a diesel but there seem to be so many models! I need to consider very carefully MPG as I do 100 miles per day (currently my old Astra 1998 does 500 miles on exactly 50 litres of diesel. I've no idea what to expect from a Mercedes, I dont expect that much tbh as it is a 1.7 and I would hope to purchase a 1.8 or 2 ltr. I also need to be careful I don't get stung on tax too, there are so many different models and the tax can fluctuate between 180 - 450 (etc) according to the Parkers guide. You can find it here, btw, if you want to see what yours is/will be if you've not done so already http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/road-tax/ although I can't find a rhyme or reason for the differences.
So, does anyone have any views, of course approximate, of what I can expect to return in MPG for my journeys? I know it depends on driving style and traffic etc, I only do 70 for 80% of the journey and sometimes 80 for the other 20%.
Any one with a 1.8, 2ltr, 2.2 diesel auto or manual have any views? Anything you can tell me will help build up a picture so I can make a more informed decision would be appreciated.
Regard,
Neil.
