I saw a damsel in distress some years back and proceeded to change her wheel for her(it was on a petrol station forecourt), 20 minutes later just as i finished.....................her male partner came out of the shop and said"thanks mate thats saved me a lot of grief". Both got in the car and drove off.Never again!.(well maybe).

I just love that LOL never again:D:D

I have heard it suggested that as the front tyre goes over the screw it flips it up and if you are unlucky it is vertical as the rear tyre goes over.
Seems a reasonable explanation, although I have no idea how many punctures caused by screws are on the front or rear wheel.
Don't know if philips, pozi, flat, torx or allen head screws make any difference!
Unless anyone here can find out.......

I noticed my rear tyre looked a bit flat last Sunday. Found a pozi head stuck in it. Don't normally use qwikifit but choice is scarce on a Sunday and they appear to have done an ok job.
Still 1st puncture in 20 years so can hardly complain. These things happen and £20 is better than £120 for a new tyre.
As for the inner wear. Many Mercs seem to do this, including mine. So don't be so quick to doubt the guy. The tyre often looks perfect across the outer 3/4 but is lethal on the last bit that you often can't see.
