Rs, Ss, Sls, Slks etc. They're all class.

Had one since 2012. With three kids and seven seats split across three rows it’s an excellent choice......means they can’t touch/annoy each other on long trips!

Also, the ability to fold all but the front seats completely flat give it almost van like capabilities for moving stuff around.

I always found the design of the R a bit odd, a sleek aerodynamic body jacked up (obviously to provide more suspension travel) will always look peculiar to my eyes
It reminds me a bit like a honda odyssey, the L version it ****** huge though!

S500 (W222) 2014. Turbo 4.7 V8 with loads of toys. Superfast luxury.
Love em

I drive a Hyundai Minivan in the states but there is an R500 that parks near me that looks so much cooler.

Nearest comparison in the UK would be the Ford S Max which is nice looking but doesn't have a V8 option

I only have two customers with these on my books. In both cases they are a tool for a job, and they do that job very well. An excellent seven (comfortable) seat towing vehicle. In my opinion they are not a particularly good looking machine, but sometimes function is more important than form. One of my customers prepares lotus elite racing cars. In fact I think he is the country's leading expert on the things. He has a race transporter that takes two of them, one canted over the other, and the R will pull that trailer, plus carry his support team, and enough space for tools, anywhere he needs to go with the added benefit of four wheel drive to get out of a muddy car park when the race day is over. What else is out there to do that job?

The chances of spotting one are pretty remote. Last time I looked there were 7 on the road in the UK. I'd be tempted to buy, but virtually impossible to find. Got to be the rarest AMG out there. Lucky to see one then!

Here’s a direct comparison with an S-Max! I didn’t set this up deliberately; the front bumper was about 6” further ahead than the S-Max’s too.

They are awesome. The R500 too is a great machine.

They are basically a W164 M class. Great cars. The wife has a W164, fantastic wagon. I love it, kids love it, goes anywhere and does anything. Its comfy and reliable.

I nearly bought an R500, mpg wise wouldn’t have been much different.
