hi my CLK is throwing codes at me with: PO130 & PO471.

= exhaust? should I change the sensor? not sure what to do.

The light is on and it's limiting the power, but after restart it goes normal for a while.

Also seems to be smoking quite noticeably on kickdown.

No takers? Somebody must have experienced this, and tried swapping sensors.

I do not know but someone will be along shortly. In the meantime have you tried searching the forum / internet?

you really need proper STAR codes rather than generic ones, you also do not give much of a description to help others assist in diagnosis.

If you have an Android device, a MB specific OBDII decoder is available in the Playstore

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irexsoft.Mercedes

Has anyone tried or have any reports on the Android version? Looks tempting.

I am sceptical about this. Looking at the sample pictures, its the same output as a generic odbii code reader. I am not sure how the app can force the BT ODBii to read from pins that are specific to MB rather than the defaults as laid out in the odbii protocol.

It doesn't force the reader to do anything. Its simply a database of codes. Some are specific to MB? You enter the code reported and it spits out the description.

It's the gearbox codes that interest me.

From memory,
P0130 will be the oxygen sensor, and not causing a problem.
P0471 will be to do with the exhaust back pressure sensor, maybe a problem with the sensor, or maybe a turbo problem - does it ever jerk on/off power when you use full throttle?

As above, proper MB codes and descriptions would be better, along with a clearer fault description if there is any more to it than the 'limp home'.

They changed the O2 sensor and the backpressure sensor, they have flushed the cat and cleaned/ inspected the EGR but it's still smoking when you accelerate. Flat between 2000-3000, but pulls strong after 3000rpm.

At a loss, been in garage for a week now. :(

It keeps saying exhaust pressure too high.

I have a remote mounted swirl motor which the garage are skeptical about because they say part of its purpose is to aid soot.

It's also remapped.

And now you mention it is still smoking? All the details please.

The back pressure too high is usually down to a turbo fault on the 642 engine - did you ever see a code for Y100 - positioner signals fault??

No, the only turbo code was something about under boost. But, it ran perfect for 300 miles after they changed the sensors in the exhaust.

It smokes mildly off boost and more on boost.

The garage (MB) are also stumped. They seem to think its a wiring problem now, because the reading values they're taking do not make sense.
I hope don't lose my remap.

Took it away for the weekend because I needed a 2+2.
It seems to me the smoking has gotten much worse and like the turbo has stopped working all together. Flat between 2&3k, pulls after 3k.

Whenever this car goes wrong it always takes weeks to fix

Only showing one code now: exhaust pressure to high
