Ticking noise

Just bought a 2nd hand C270 sport edition 3 weeks ago, first MB and love it. It has just started a ticking noise (sounds like behind dash) which does not increase with speed and is audible between tick-over and 2000 rpm - about three ticks per second.It does it when stationary and moving, but stops when cornering or applying brake even very slightly before lights activate. Apart from the obvious like 'it is the brakes', which part? Car is still under dealer warranty so would help to know what I am talking about.

There are a few things that come to mind, if it is behind the dash then thats the plastic catch for the carbon filter flap snapped, photos of the dash out on my web site, other ticking i can think of is the injector seals leaking, do you ever get a smell inside when sat in traffic, best bet is to take it back to the dealer if you have tier 1 on the car!

I agree with SAM on this and the lugs break off the flaps,,it is a dash out to fix it,,the ticking is the motor that cannot re set
