Just recently my 2010 C200 CDI auto is causing me problems when the engine is cold. If I don't release the hand (foot) brake and take my foot off the brake pedal before I put it into Drive the car tries to surge ahead and the engine stalls.

So I have to release the brakes and then put it into Drive and let the car pull away and off it goes at about 15 mph. At the next junction I have to slip it out of gear and coast to a stop otherwise it will try to keep going and will stall again. This happens until the engine warms up, although even then the tick-over seems a little faster than it used to be. If we are parked between two close cars it is almost impossible to get out without touching them or worse.

Any ideas anyone? The car has always been serviced by the nearest MB dealer in Angouleme, SW France, and the gearbox (722.6) oil was last changed at 207,481 kms (129,675 miles) and it is now at 256,000 kms (160,000 miles).

Many thanks in advance,
John
