I have tried to switch off the autolocking after pulling away as I think this unduly wears the vacuum system but although I turn the key to position 2 and press the lock button on the key as I was told this would stop the procedure it doesnt seem to have any effect - any ideas?
Thanks

I do not think it a good idea to disable the locking on a 129,you have little protection if the car rolled.

are you saying its a physical safety feature not just to prevent attack /theft?

Yes,its featured as such in the sales book, its the dead locking that comes on at about 15mph. Since this is all vacuam operated, not much wear takes place.

Oh Ok thanks for that.
It seems to take an age to unlock the boot though but then the car stood for about 6 weeks or so as the previous owner bought an SL55 before selling this one. perhaps it will get better with use? I guess I am a bit nervous as I replaces the hood ecu for 750 last year and I dont really want to have spend out that sort of money again....
