No sir, poor oil consumption is either bores or rings, unless leaking.

Either way if you are burning oil it will be seen in the exhaust as smoke. If it smokes when accelerating it is rings or bores,, if it only smokes after say standing at traffic lights, then pulling away it will be valves or the valve guides
