Now would this be the ignition timing? If so its not at the flywheel, its on the front crankshaft pulley.

The timing marks are on a big disc called a vibration damper / harmonic balancer which is held in place behind the crankshaft pulley. There are rubber numbers on the disc with the timing markings on the rubber on the outside rim of the disc. The marks are on about 20% in area of the rim so you may have to turn engine to see them and they may be covered in gunk.

They are matched up to the top dead centre sensor which is magnetic and triggerred by a little nipple on the outer edge of the vibration damper / harmonic balancer wheel. TDC sensor is above vibration damper / harmonic balancer at 12 o'clock.

Get a Haynes manual for exact instruction on lining up the timing though.
