timmiing diesal pump

hi i got a 320 2002 diesal ive just put a recon diesal pump on but it takes a age to start do you have to time the pump up before you put it on i need help badly its driving me up the wall .tom

No timing on the high pressure pump, what made you change the pump? Did you test injector leak off 1st??

hi star it was leaking bad and we got a recon one but we are taking the covers off the old one and replacing the seals but getting the bolts off the covers is getting hard i think we will have to get all new bolts thanks for your help .tom

Bolts may be gone now, but next time use this king of tool:
