Hi,

My 2014 S204 has flagged a Tyre Pressure Sensor Monitor Inoperative warning on the dash, which in turn has flagged an ABS and ESP warning.

I have Mercedes Benz Extended Warranty cover on the car but believe these sensors contain a battery in them, batteries are not covered under the warranty.

Anyone got any experience in whether MB extended warranty will replace, rather not pay a diagnostic fee only to be told they are not covered - local MB garage won't commit either way when I rang.

Thanks

Doesn't specifically call out TMPS in the T&C's.

Sensors are listed as covered items, but "Batteries - non-HV and auxiliary batteries" are excluded.

I've just given MB Warranty a call, didn't expect them to confirm either way - but they confirmed they are covered.

Thanks for your response.

The S204 doesn’t have the TPMS unless it was a optional option ? ? Do you have the larger valves ? Pretty sure it’s a run flat sensor on them through the abs sensors

Yeah, I think your right - its just the basic TPMS system which works through the wheel speed sensors.

Now booked in with MB for fixing under warranty hopefully.

You are right Rich; my W204 had the Flat Tire Monitor (FTM) system that uses the ABS to measure each tire's rolling radius
