To buy or not to buy C43

Hi all, after some help!

I'm tempted by a C43 but unsure if it's a good deal and also the sort of things I should be looking out for. The car is 3.5 years old (jan 17, 66 plate) with 24k miles on the clock being offered at just under £27k.

If I could get it down to about £25k then I'm seriously tempted as I don't do huge miles any longer and it all looks good with full history. What I don't know is general reliability (given it will be 6-7 years old when I'm done) or serious services/part replacements that I'd need to consider as I'll probably need to keep the car for at 3 years.

Any pointers you can give me would be appreciated.

Thanks

Good idea to put a link up so we get a better idea of condition etc
As you say the petrol V6 is a bit of an unknown quantity regarding reliability but very little reported on here or the media regarding problems.

As Malcolm, the 3.0V6 is relatively 'new' but hasn't reported any adverse issues- there are a couple of members on here with that powertrain @Srdl has a GLC for instance and rates it highly.
the 9G box seems excellent also.
For a saloon (or any) 27k ish seems to be bang on the money whether main dealer or not. It's all going to be about specification /options and if you can knock the price down (I'd have thought there's at least 1k in it), plus you'll get a full years warranty main dealer.
I'd go for it, given what I've said above?

Well it's got Premium Plus pack on it which is a big plus for me as it includes the Burmester speakers and Command.

Think I'll speak to the dealer to arrange a test drive.

Thanks for your help.

Are there any specific parts/additional service items I need to be aware of in the next couple of years on the car. I've seen mention of transmission oil change which is optional and just trying to get a feel for what running costs might be over the next couple of years and if it's worth asking for the dealer to agree to do any of these as part of the deal ?

Might be worth checking if the 20% off service pack is still on, otherwise transmission service due I think 37.5k

Yep gearbox is due at 33k , 37.5k , 77k as a one off at 3 years and 5 years , but recommended every 40k for those in the know , unless you subscribe to the sealed for life idea

GLC43 AMG 2018 (X253)
Hi, yes very happy with my GLC43 and can definitely recommend the engine. It the M276 engine which has been around since 2010 so any problems should have been sorted by now.
Referring to a couple of points:
- am I right in thinking that the C AMGs are just rear wheel drive not 4matic? If so, crabbing will be less of an issue but, personally, I don’t find crabbing an issue anyway.
- again, I can’t be sure but I think I read that my GLC 9g needs an auto transmission fluid change at 3 years, perhaps something about it having specific AMG settings and software?
- just a comment in general, if you are worried about running and servicing costs, don’t buy a Mercedes but using a good Indie can keep prices down.
