Hi
Any advice or help as to buying a 1994 (L) E280 Auto with 160000 miles.
What to look out for etc, and any spec would help, going to look tomos so quick reply would be great, asking price from a garage £1600.00.

Cheers

Keith.

Miles, colours, history, number of owners, rust?

More details would be helpful.

You can usually find most answers if you use the search facility.

As cars become older they are judged more on condition than age/mileage. I'd say, its about the right price for an estate, maybe a little high (unless good condition) for a saloon.

Thanks, its not an estate. but the body work seems excellent, what might I expect in the way of mpg? although I may convert to LPG.

Have a look around this forum. There have been lots of posts on this exact topic in just the last few days and it's all been said already

Just one thing to add - don't buy the first one you see, be fussy and drive as many as you can

As Neil says, not enough details - and a search is a good idea.
However, in my limited MB experience I have developed the 'gut feeling' that in one of that age if EVERYTHING electrical works as it should, I think the previous owner might have taken at least an interest in the car. Only then would I be interested in checking it out further in the manner one would check any used car.
Price sounds reasonable IMO if it's a decent one.
Hope you're in luck.
