Hi all.
This weekends project is to change the thermostat on my recently purchased 2005 W211 E320 CDI. Would anyone know the torque settings for the thermostat housing? I’ve been trying to search on the site, but haven’t found anything yet, cheers

I've never 'torqued' up, I'm just careful not over tighten.

Fair enough, I wouldn’t think they’d be much anyway, maybe 10 lb ft.

For what it's worth it's 5 and 7 lbf ft for the OM 646 and 651 respectively, the 646 is a standard mechanical temperature operated unit and the 651 is ECM controlled.

Ok, I’ve got to OM 648 in this car, so think I’ll try at 7lb ft maybe?
