I've given up with my gearbox problem so I'm replacing the car !
Unfortunately, in the 9 months I've had this thing I put a nice Tow bar on it. I didn't put it on but I do have the instructions for how to put it on.

Can anyone tell me two things please?

1) The instructions say "remove the metal buffer beam from the bumper" - it then says to discard it so, I'm guessing it's gone bye byes - is it a problem if I remove the towbar and this isn't around anymore? What did it look like?

2) How the heck do I remove the rear bumber? I've had a poke around and it's absolutely not obvious to me !

(C200 CDI 04 plate.)

thankyou !
John.

That 'metal buffer beam' will give the bumper it's strength/rigidity. The towing bracket will replace that beam, when fitted.
So.. If you remove the tow bracket, you'll remove the strength in the bumper. Not good..
