I fitted a tow bar to my 220 Cdi.If you buy new full fitting instructions are included.Very easy to do,take bumper off, remove beam, replace with tow bar and slide into ends of chassis rails, holes are all there to bolt up.

Dead easy.John

Towbar

Thanks John - I was wondering if it was too difficult for DIY. Taking off the bumper is that difficult - I saw one make of towbar that said it would take 2 hours to fit, I suppose that is reasonable!
Did you purchase a particular make? I note the electics are expensive!
Thanks
James

I bought mine off ebay its a Witter tow bar.If you buy the electrics that plug in to the rear Sam then it is expensive,I used a by-pass relay and clipped on to the rear wiring the 12v feed then comes off the rear Sam.Taking the rear bumper off is not to hard.If you live near Folkestone I could give you a hand.
