Hi.
I have a friend that is requiring a Towbar fitted to his 2013 w204 c200 Saloon.

Is there anybody local to either Southampton or Barking that has one for sale, (that can be fitted) or can fit one at a "non-ridiculous" price please?

He lives in Barking but has to come down to Southampton for work occasionally. So either would be ok.

You can contact me here and I will get him to get into contact.

This is required relatively urgently.

Thanks....... :)

I'd look for a local trailer hire company, they usual know (or fit themselves)
I used to use on in West Wales and was very happy with them - never had one fitted to an MB though and don't know anyone down your way

Hiya.
Thanks. It's a friend of mine that wants to get one fitted and he did contact a few places but the average he was quoted was in excess of £500.00 ****** crazy amount! He was saying it would be more worth it to just buy a cheap 2nd hand car with one fitted!!

Cheers..... :)

Sadly, that's the going price for a new towbar, fitted to an MB with a dedicated electric kit. My 205 took half a day for 2 guys, experienced with MBs. For info, the bumper needs to come off and the boot lining stripped...and with an MB, they need to know what they're doing!

I was a caravaner in the 70's & 80's used to fit my own towbars & electrics then. I am sure i couldn't now.

In these days, I fitted towbars to various Maxis and Princesses along with socket connections. Nowadays, there are many reasons why as a 78 years old, I might not be able to fit a towbar; 2 bolts removed a rear bumper in these days, for example and also just the small matter of being able to get back up from the floor after threading cables through various grommets....

I'd rather just wave a wad of money at somebody these days and go for a coffee....

How about giving MBS Southampton a call and see if they know anyone - assuming they don't do it?
