Hi all
Much appreciated if you can help with experience or knowledge.
I am looking to upgrade my 16" standard alloys to 18 8.0 on front and 8.5 on rear.
Would this be correct.
And the websites are asking wether it is has direct or in direct tpms.
Can someone elaborate please many thanks in advance.

If you can view individual tyre pressures you have direct TPMS. If you can't it's probably indirect.
Direct has sensors in each wheel. Indirect uses the abs speed sensors to detect when one wheel develops a consistently slower rotational speed compared to the others.

Direct tells you the actual tyre pressure & specifically which tyre is soft. Indirect tells you that one of the tyres is soft ..... go & find it. ;)

It is indirect on a W204

Is direct an option?
Not OEM but GLK showed his recent purchase, a new set of TPMS valves with a smartphone app that allows individual tyre pressures to be read. Around £50 for the lot IIRC. I’m planning on fitting that kit to my 215 in the grand scheme of things.

Yes, fitted the kit in January - four aftermarket TPMS valves, these work on BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) connection, so the phone must support Bluetooth 4 protocols.

Works perfectly fine, the app (iPhone 6; iOS 11.3) is a bit slow to update - takes a couple of minutes for all four corners, other than that - no complains.

The cost of the kit was in fact, under £30, so pretty good value for money.

OK, I'm trying to source the pair of rear springs, at a better price, than MB listed one, once I got them, I'll text you.
