Transmission issue

I just bought 2007 cls 320cdi.
Guy drove it and It just showed abs and other lights on the dash and stoped. Towed It home. Now it has issue that when you put it in drive, reverse or any other gear it doesnt react to it. Used diagnostic tool and there 0 problems showing with gearbox. Could it be faulty brake switch and just doesnt show on diagnostic? Selector works as it should and shows the gear you put in. Or oil in trans harness causing issues take a look at trans ecm end see if wet. With oil I believe its under carpets p/S footwell.
It may be that ur scanner can't access mb trans ecm.?
