Hi all curious to find out if my car is the only 1 that does it.
Say you pull away from a junction or lights and from 1st to 2nd is fine but 2nd to 3rd it seems to hold on to 2nd and it sounds like am ridding the clutch if only it was a manual box but it's a automatic and then it changes from 2nd to 3rd when the revs are over 2000 to me it doesn't sound right or feels right but this is my first ever auto mercedes so could this be right.
The oil has no recollection from mercedes of being changed a bought the car with 78000 miles now it's done 90000 it's done it since a bought the car could it be just needing oil changed.
?
Thanks Graeme

More than likely needs ATF change but equally there might be TCM /conductor plate/valve body issues which would better diagnosed first. The reason I say that is it would be a pity to have the ATF and filter changed then lose it all again if that doesn’t sort it. You might be ok but that’s my tuppence

Which transmision is it? 722.6 or 722.9? IE- is it a 5 speed or 7 speed? first step, get it scanned for fault codes. 2nd step , get the oil level checked preferably by some one who knows how to do it. and see how it looks .

Not so easy to check the ATF level in the 722.9 trans, I'd be getting it scanned so. Then if the scan shows no faults, get the level and condition of the fluid checked. This involves having the car on a lift, removing the trans drain plug, and see if some fluid drops out. This has to be checked when the fluid is exactly at 45c . If no fluid comes out, means that the level is low, and needs topping up. This involves a special attachment and pump which screws into the sump . Fluid is then pumped up into the sump, until some of it flows back out. When it stops flowing, that's the correct level then.

I never knew that ATFs have oil changes. Front and back should be changed ?
ATF is Automatic Transmission Fluid - which should be changed in your automatic gearbox every ~37,500 miles
