so hello everyone , my 350 sl 2003 rear batt has lost all its charge , so I cannot open the boot even with the key and I am very low on fuel , so is there a way I can charge my consumer batterie from within the car without access to the physical battery? so the pse pump will be able to let go of the boot at the switch in the car will operate.

many thanks in advance

What is the metal key doing?
If it won’t turn then get plenty of penetration fluid in and keep working the key until it frees up. You can use a vibrating toothbrush against the key to dislodge the jammed pins.
The key should turn 90’ and the lock opens on the last bit of the turn.

the key used to work , so I have used loads of spray so the key goes in and the lock turns but not 90 degrees , just a bit short of it but the lock does not pop open will the lock still turn even if one of the tumblers is still a bit sticky?

I believe Malcolm (Television) on here used to advise holding an electric toothbrush again key blade to assist with stiff locks? I don’t know if it works but worth a try.

First thought was to comment on the difference a vibrator can make to things :)shock::shock:), but then I thought - can you get the bonnet up and use the emergency under bonnet connections to connect a battery charger? AFAIK most/all MB's have an emergency +ve hidden under a (red) plastic cover under the bonnet, and you can use the top of the suspension etc as the -ve.

I could not find that +ve on my car a 2003 sl 350 , if I had one would that also charge the rear batt if I hooked it up to a charger?

I have never been able to start my r230's if the boot battery goes flat, and last week was no exception.
But now I know if you put the key in the ignition a couple of times it will transfer to the starter battery
