A class 150 2007.
Hi I have just got my a class 150 2007. It doesn’t have a phone bracket but has phone buttons on the steering wheel and center panel. When I try to connect through Bluetooth it says “no phone “. Does anyone know what I need to do. I’m not very technical. Thanks

Is there anything in the cars manual to explain it ?

So the won’t have a phone even though there is the buttons for it, on the 169, if the phone prep was installed at the factory it would be in the centre armrest tray that pops out.

In this thread, somewhere near the end, I say how I got phone, DAB and streaming connected to my 2007 E Class.

Cost me £50 in Eze-DAB, couple of quid in connectors from Halfords and an hour or so of time.

No. I think because it’s an iPhone I might have to install something.

Do you have command or audio20 in the car? If you have a look in the glovebox you may see an AUX in port that might make the above option possible, if not then it may well be easier to upgrade the entire head unit to something more modern

There are some adapters that would work with it but I think it’s more for streaming music, you still won’t be able to use the button to make or receive calls with that I’m afraid

That aux socket is an input only. You will be able to play music and hear people talking on your phone, but you won't have a mic (and will need to dial via the phone).

The box I posted plugs into this aux socket for phone, dab, etc. Power is via the cigarette lighter.

As I didn't want wires floating around my car... And also wanted to keep my lighter free for other things, I removed the aux socket from the little plastic holder and taped it being the glovebox. I also bought a new 12v lighter socket for £6 on amazon and tapped this into the back of the existing lighter socket... It was pretty simple and is very neat.

I think your easiest option would be to update the head units, good ones with integration to the buttons can be bought for a couple of hundred pounds now and are relatively easy to fit with widely available connections, you could even go as far as getting ones with Apple CarPlay so you have everything on the screen and then your phone is no longer a distraction
