I’m sorry contacting you through eBay but I joined mbclub to ask you if it’s possible to still get a vin number from a reg. but I can’t seem to ask any questions on the forum. I am building a series Land Rover but can’t find the vin. I only have the reg can you help. Sorry if this is taking the p#*< contacting you this way but I didn’t know what else to do

Why do you need the Vin number, I assume you don’t have the log book?
Have you tried Land Rover? Your other option is DVLC, you will have to register it at some stage with them.

If the guy owns the car he is working on, which it sounds like then he should have the logbook with the VIN. If not then he needs to contact DVLA.

There was some sites in the past - all take down now to prevent cloning, id theft etc.

Seems odd you got contacted via eBay. if someone signs up to the forum they can post straight alway.
