help please

I have seen this item on ebay, promising enhanced performance :
ie

This chip takes 5 minutes to fit and can be removed when ever needed, there is no risk and it is cheaper than an ECU remap almost half price while offering exactly the same performance improvements. Some ECU remaps require the ECU to be opened and a chip to be removed for reprogramming.
This comprimises the integrity of the ECU while putting the ECU electronics at risk from Electrostatic which is capable of destroying the ECU.

A simple plug a play device offering the same performance as a remap has to be the way.
Power delivery is improved widening the power band, which result in less gear changes
No ECU error code are stored as a result installation
Uses genuine MB vehicle plugs and sockets making it easy to remove for service and MOT's and can easily be transfered over to other vehicles
The protective functions of the engines are kept
Hidden installation
The installation can be done for approximately 2 minutes (even a non-expert can do it)
Includes a detailed fitting guide with pictures
Easy uninstall for MOTs Services easy to move between vehicles
The fuel expenses are not increased in fact a 10-15% saving can normally be seen under normal driving conditions
Increase of maximum speed and acceleration
No soldering or stripping of cables needed, only fitting the inline device

My question to all is, do these work, what's the experience of those who have used them so far?

I tried one on my sprinter 311 about 2 years ago. Wouldn't even start, sold it again for the same money explaining that it wouldn't start my sprinter and the guy who bought it from me has it working fine.

I gues with the mixed results its not worth trying - unless someone else has a 220 cdi where it works fine?

If you really want to get some results on a diesel talk to these guys. They did a talk a recent Regional Porsche club meeting and were very inpressive. told us a lot about the ins & outs of this and have fettled a lot of quality German cars and some others too. From What I understood some of the biggest gainsin percentage terms are to be had with the oil burners. If I had a diesel I would without doubt be paying them a visit

Hi again

Just happened accross a hand out the DMS guys gave us at the meeting. Figures for the E220CDi are:

Standard 150bhp & 235lb/ft
DMSs'd 180bhp & 301ib/ft

Would also add that these guys seem to be mery professional and can back up their claims most definately NOT a boy racer outfit. They are genuine car enthusiasts. Hope this helps
