Turbo gone??

hi Iv a a class 1.5 14plate diesel and my car started making a noise 2 weeks ago my local garage couldn’t get me in for 2 weeks the 2 weeks was today and about 3miles away from the garage and smoke everywhere struggled to get up the hill big time! Also noise got worst! Fingers crossed it’s not to expensive. But anyone every had this problem before?

I know there is a place who recondition turbos on the Phoenix Industrial Estate in Harrow, same estate as Wayne Gates garage.

Little update guys!
It wasn’t the turbos it’s the engine! Only 87k on the clock! I’m not happy but got my hands on a new engine but massively out of pocket!

Not as of yet! Needs more investigating! But 6months out of warranty of merc garage! was fully serviced in November 18 by local garage! I don’t get why this has happened? But also I’m guessing my car will be worth more with a engine only done 19k!?

something very wrong here pal , 87k is nowt for a derv engine and white smoke is usually turbo or head gasket failure

Might be wrong on the smoke colour! I have no idea what has caused this?! Or what to do about it

can you elaborate on what actually happened pal , was there no warning at all , unusual noises , dip in performance ???

Ok... car making funny noise (no performance issues ect) at this point local garage said carry on driving it till we can fit you in in 2weeks time! He said it’s turbo!
On way home day before car in garage sudden smoke,loss of power it would only do about 5mph up hill some how got it to the garage,just!noise changed the smoke stinks as well! He then checks car it’s the engine!

I struggle to believe any garage would advise someone to drive with a possible turbo fault ! its a Renault DCi engine and they a known to smash camshafts . . . . .

He serviced it for me back in November before then it was always serviced at merc garages, Iv had the car 1year 6months! Also had breaks done by time a week before the issue! I mean not blaming him but I can’t accuse or prove it’s him In any way! Or do anything about it but get new engine!

Main thing is where do I go from here can I claim for anything? Insurance company don’t want to know

well the engines history pal , so either drop in another unit or buy another car after selling that one as spares repairs ??

Iv bought the engine £900 vat inc and delivery inc, just need someone to fit it! I’m gona sell it when it’s fitted! But I will expect more 19k new engine and a 14plate 1.5 a class!? Iv tang merc garage speaking to someone Monday if as a good will gesture they will do some deal with me

ok but doing an engine swap only needs a decent garage , even with good will I cant see MB being cheaper , have to see what they come back with pal , its bugger of a situ to be in but the advice you were given to carry on using it was so wrong pal
