Hi I have recently bought a w163 ml270.

It's gone into limp mode and found 2 codes

First was an egr code(vacuum pipe was loose so I repaired that)
This code has now gone and not returned after many road tests

Second code is p1470 - boost pressure regulation. Done some digging and checked all vacuum pipes, which all seem fine.

I can move the turbo actuator by hand but it's not moving when being revved.

Any ideas? Bought it from a trader who is willing to supply parts

Check boost hoses for splits. Very common and can be hard to see.
You won't usually see the actuator move revving in neutral as you can't generate enough load.

I'm off work this week so I'm going to strip some bits down and check all boost/vacuum pipes.

Quick update. Found a split vac hose which I replaced. Now getting full boost when driving. But it cuts out when I get to a junction.

It will restart and misfire for a few seconds then drive fine. No codes in the system

I camt hear a boost leak but I do get black smoke from the exhaust. Just removed the cat which looks very clear

Any other ideas?????

Black smoke is too much fuel for the sir volume injected. Check the boost hoses (the big fat ones) and intercooler for leaks.

So I get a 'whooshing' noise through the turbo when I let off. It sounds like a leak but comes through the air filter
