Not just a chip, but a TV Tuner which does plug in to the back of your comand system. However, the current ones are analogue, and with digital imminent, this has to be the way to go.

It may not be quite as simple as just plugging in a digital tuner you may need to change the aerial to get reception. Go for a digital tuner as the anologue signal will be turned off by 2011 IIRC earlier in some areas. Try www.roadstardirect.co.uk there may be something on there that fits the bill. To be honest though I have a TV in my car and very rarely watch it.

Why not just buy a hand held digital TV for the odd occassion you're likely to use it?

I think that is perfectly reasonable, however it is nice to have the toys and that they all work. I spent nearly £400 for the ipod integration so that I don't have trailing wires. Whilst it is nice the ipod was easier to operate before I had the integration. I've watched a couple of movies by installment whilst sat waiting in the car over the last couple of months so I can understand the requirement.

Being a chauffeur I find the TV facility very useful. One of my clients didn't want to leave the car when wimbledon tennis was on.

I looked at a Viano which the chauffeur owner had spend £4.5K on individual TV installations into the C pillar and roof so that different seats could look at different channels. It was a very tidy installation indeed.
