Tyre change

HI guys

I recently had to change the front offside tyre on my CLK220CDI , done by ATS locally.

THe tyre pressure warning came up, duly cancelled, but it keeps coming up every so often!

Tyre pressures OK.

Strange it did NOT come up when the old tyre was deflating...blowout!

Any ideas please?

Is the new tyre exactly the same width / profile as the original ?

If it is a lower profile than what should be fitted then it may throw up a warning.

Is the message specific to that wheel or just a general "any" tyre warning ?

I assume you have reset the monitoring system. This should always be done after inflating tyres or putting on new tyres so that the system "learns" the correct settings over the next few miles and then knows when there is a problem in future. This can be done on one of the setting menus.

Not sure whether this is what you meant by "cancelled" or whether you just cleared the warning?

The tyre pressure system works through the car analysing the wheel rotation when it is moving . Try pumping all the tyres to the same pressure when they are cold ...such as 32 psi and then resetting the tyre pressure system .

did you check the tyres pressure after ATS, and I wonder if your wheel bolts are tightened to 11.5kg, or a hammer gun fit ??
