Most tyre centres will take them off you, but will charge for the priveledge.

Only fair really, as it costs them as well.

£1.00 at my local one, though this is the cost when they fit them, may be more for just disposal, as they won't make money out of you on a new tyre, valve and balancing etc..

At all recycling centers in the SW you can leave 5 tyres a year free, must be off the rim. if you go to a tyre shop they will charge you £1-£2 pounds each.

You can throw it over a speed camara and set fire to it, that's free:D

It's a northern thing, he won't understand. besides GM Waste are pretty good about taking tyres providing you don't turn up in a van. I can imagine some jumped up little hitler down south saying "you can't tip that here!"

I usually ask if I can take the old tyres away. They are handy to start a bonfire when you are taking trees down for logs.

I shouldn't have asked the bloke at the recycling centre if they took tyres and just left it there... trouble is there's cctv cameras watching your every move in this ****** city, and I'd probably be personally fined a million pounds by Ken for even thinking it.
