Me again. 2 issues. I have a GLC250D 4Matic 17 Reg. It has Run Flats and the metal ledge both sides (whatever it's called) the drivers door side lip of the seat has worn down and they don't know why. Well I admit I'm 13 1/2 Stone but I wear Chinos so it's not the weight. Worn down for about 6in.

Tyres. Front pair outer edges, run flat seem to be coming away at the first ridge all the way around. Now I'm 58 and I'm not a rev head. Any ideas why either of these are happening? Constructive ideas preferably. Are run flats known to do this? Only 25k on the clock and the tyres are nowhere near the lower limit.

Hi again
Any chance of some pictures?
I think I know what you mean but a picture as they say.....
Tyres: reasonably common due to alignment issues, you need to get an alignment done on a Hunter is similar machine
Seat Bolster( I think): are the seats Artico?
Sill plates ( I think): pic needed they can be buffed a little using a metal paste

Artico seats wear badly, quite common unfortunately

RHD 4-matics can crab badly which can damage the tyres. Also common unfortunately

Yup, need replacing with "All Seasons" tyres in non run flat form.

Mercedes have a tendency to wear the outer edges of tyres due to the way they turn their wheels

Yeah I do get that when I drop the wife off in the morning. Sounds like chewing gravel on full lock. Only slow speed at this point I'm not a doughnut person.

Here is the inspection shot from today. Outside edge much worse. New tyres at 27k. Not a rev head, is that normal?

They are at the wear bars anyway, not a huge number of miles left in them.
