.....Is it possible to turn this off, but still keep the tyre pressure info on the dashboard?

That possibly doesn't make sense? l want to know what the tyre pressures are but don't want it to tell me if they drop.

The reason being the tyre pressures ARE correct but it keeps coming up as if one of the tyres has lost air and that l need to reactivate the TPM. lt gives me the choice of reactivating it with the steering wheel controls but if l say 'no' don't reactivate it, it asks me again everytime l start the car whereas if l do say 'yes' and reactivate it, then it tells me there is a problem when there isn't.

Now, l'm confused so l'm not so sure anyone will understand this - even Malcolm might struggle.

Thanks for humouring me.....

Sounds like a new wheel sensor is needed!!

Think Malc will understand perfectly!!

I got so peed off with mine and the "check tyre pressure" warnings that I turned it off. The sensors only last 5-6 years and cost £100 each plus fitting.

I walk round once a month and kick each tyre :D:D not really and test them on a little digital tester

I have the software based system. Costs nothing, if you know some one with STAR ;) ) Doesn't tell you the actual pressures but does warn if any tyre drops by more than 10% from the activation value.

It's gone off (red dash lights and loud beeps, scared the cr*p out of me the first time!!) twice in 3 years, both false alarms

So are you saying l can turn it off, but would lose the T.P. info?

And that it's probably a faulty sensor?

The car is an April 2004 model so is 5 1/2 years old now.

Would it be false economy to only replace the fauty sensor or would you simply replace all four?

Cheers.

Is it worth changing all 4 that will cost you £500,, the joke is that it was only a £700 extra from new, if ever you need a wheel repainted they have to come off and they always break through corrosion.

Yes if you turn it off you would get no more info about the pressures

I've never heard of this. What does it entail?

amwebby - Needs a bit of coding. It uses the ESP/ABS sensors to monitor wheel revs.

You have to have the right firmware in the front SAM.

Coding for pre facelift 203 (also worked on my facelifted 203)

Procedure for pre-facelift w203 cars
============================
- code function in EIS
- code function in ESP
> function is enabled by EIS and new menu appears
> press START and a mileage will appear at the first time it was enabled in the ESP.
- error in cluster, remove key, insert key
- drive car for 20 min
- reset warning parameter in cluster with steering buttons

It cannot be done on the 215 or the 230 up to now,,when I get my STAR i can play,,, to do it on the 203 is not that easy if you do not know the routine, and even on the 203 it is 2003 and on

I think I get it, the principle anyway. I assume this coding is done in STAR? What is EIS?
