Hi Folks,

Left my car standing for about 5 days. First time I got in and two minutes up the road....up pops the warning. Checked pressures - all is fine.

As much as I'm glad to see that maybe this will work when I need it to - any one seen this before?

cheers,
John.

It is a funny system when you have the senders in the valves. they can often trigger this message if the car has been standing, ignore it,

They need replacing every 6 years as the batteries run out, only £100 plus fitting (each)

I have the tyre pressure monitor system (that uses the ESP firmware) and this triggers quite often, especially if the dealer has 'adjusted' my tyre pressures during their complimentary valet...

It is reassuring to know it will detect pressure imbalances

in the valves?

Oh - I didn't know they were in the valves. If I get new tyres do they switch them over or replace them for me?

Daft question perhaps - but Should I ensure that I have good valve caps?

many thanks, as always :)

John.

The c class uses individual wheel speed to work out if the tyre pressures are low,so therefore no sensors are needed.

I do not think that you can guarantee that your car uses the wheel speed sensor.

you can tell from the valves, they are solid when you have sensors and rubber with the speed sensors

That's one of the systems, they were both available on the C class
