Tyre pressures

Can anyone help? I have a 500SL Silver Arrow and I am trying to find the correct tyre pressure's.
This is the first vehicle I have owned which has different size tyres front and rear. The car is currently running on Dunlop 9000 275/35/18 on the rear and 245/40/18 on the front. Any suggestions on other makes of tyres?

Normally the recommended pressures are shown on the inside of the fuel filler flap.

As per above the pressures are written inside the fuel filler flap.

The information inside the fuel filler cap is,nt always correct as the owners handbook and the filler cap tell me my tyres on my AMG are 215 all round and they are 225 front and 245 rear so the pressures will be different.
I found the correct pressures for mine by looking at the last service report from MB where the pressures were recorded in the service information.

The tyre manufacturers usually give you the correct pressure for your tyre/vehicle combination. This is usually slightly different from the standard pressure noted on the fuel lid.

Experiment a little within the range of the recommended pressures (light load to full load)

It is quite a personal thing and affects ride, handling and wear.
