Hi Guys. My 2005 CLK 320 is beautiful but the ride on a dodgy road is an uncomfortable ride ( I am 50!) I have 19" AMG rims on it but I think I need to change the rear tyres at least as it is the rear which feels`too hard`. Currently on 235/35`s, any ideas on what I could change them too, wider/higher? Thanks.

You won’t get a higher profile unless you go 18s , I think.

^+1 yes our roads aren’t fit for 19in wheels unfortunately, air suspension helps, the W213 handles 20in wheels very well so MB have made progress but not much consolation for everyone else. I would go for a set of 18in wheels

My r129 came on 19s shod with 235/35 and was quite bad on poor surfaces. The rim also sat outside the tread so was vulnerable to kerb an pot hole damage.
On that I went to 255/35 and they fit well though are very tight at the front on full lock.
The wider tyre has given 7mm more sidewall so has helped with ride as well.
Whatever you do to the rear you will also need to do to the front. If you don't your cruise will fail to work properly, ABS and ESP will also have problems as they all rely on information from the wheel speed sensors to operate and if one set show a lower than expected speed compared to the other set will start to behave oddly.

    Here's the 129 on 255s:

CLK should have 225/35 R19 front and 255/30 R19 rear tyres
